Campers relish experiences; as Lagos Sports Summer Camp Phase 3 come to an end at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere

Some of the Participants at the Phase 3 of the Lagos Sports Summer Camp, held at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, have relished their positive experiences at the 7 day Camp.

 

The Camp attended by 120 Lagos Children aged between 9 and 14 from different areas in the State, was designed to expose Participants to 60% Sports and 40% Life Skills.

 

At the last day in Camp, on Saturday some of the Campers recounted that their experience at the Camp will be a memorable one that would impact their lives as responsible Citizens of Lagos State.

 

According to Jimoh Ester, a Camper from lkorodu, she stated that during the 7 day period in the Camp, what she has learnt would make her an independent Child.

 

” I want to say that I have learnt life skills that would make me a self independent child with less reliance on my Parents”.

 

” Is it in the area of Sports or the Soft Skills that I have learnt at the camp. I am happy that I have the opportunity to be among the Participants at this very educative and informative gathering”.

 

Also speaking during the Departure, Salami Halima Ayomide, from Ketu - Epe enthused that she is going Home, a very different Child because of the life skills knowledge in Hat Making and Power Bank Making.

 

” If I were not opurtuned to be part of the Participants at this Camp, what I have learnt here would not have been possible”.

 

“Also I have been exposed to Teakwondo and my interest in the Sport is very high now. Thank you to Lagos State Government for organizing this very educative camping”.

 

Abang Henry Odey from Ajegunle disclosed that he enjoyed all the activities at the camp from sports , life skills, the Movie night and dancing competitions.

 

” I want to say that I enjoyed every bit of the activity at the Lagos Sports Summer Camp”.

 

Ogundare Martin-Luther from Ijesha in Surulere said that Lagos Sports Summer Camp is a place to be. He added that all the activities at the Camp were very exciting and educative.

 

” I really want to say that all the activities at the Camp were very exciting and educative”. I am happy to be among the Participants”. He concluded.

 

Also, some of the Parents interviewed during the Departure of the Campers, thanked the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Lagos State Sports Commission for the initiative of the Lagos Sports Summer Camp.

 

While speaking, a Parent, Mr. Kasumu Isiaka Oladipo said that he monitored the Camping activities Live on the Lagos State Government Website.

 

” I have been monitoring the live activities of the Lagos Sports Summer Camp on the Lagos State Government Website and I saw how the campers were making Power Banks, engaging in Martial Arts and other Sporting activities and I am impressed”.

 

” I want to say thank you to Governor Sanwo-Olu and the Lagos State Sports Commission for the initiative of Lagos Sports Summer Camp”.

 

Mrs. Omolara Ogunowo disclosed that the Lagos Sports Summer Camp taught the Children who participated to be independent and responsible Children.

 

” I am very happy that my Child was among the Participants at this year’s Lagos Sports Summer Camp and by participating, i am sure he is going Home a changed Child through what he has learnt here”.

 

” The Participants would be self independent and know that without their Parents being around, they can still survive”. Mrs Ogunowo said.

 

It will be recalled that the Season 2 of the Lagos Sports Summer Camp commenced with the Phase 1 held in Badagry from 15th to 21st August , Phase 2 in Ikorodu from 22nd to 28th August and Phase 3 held in Surulere from 5th to 11th September.

 

All the participants at the 3 Phases were kitted, given Certificates of Participation, Souvenirs and gift items.
