Executive Chairman, Lagos State Sports Commission, Sola Aiyepeku, has reiterated that Lagos State, through the Sports Commission, would continue to do everything possible to attract more International Competitions.
He made the statement during the Press Conference heralding the 2nd edition of the ITTF Africa (Western Region) at the Molade Okoya-Thomas lndoor Sports Hall,Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere,Lagos,Nigeria.
According to Aiyepeku, “It’s the desire of the Lagos State Government led by Mr.Governor to set the State open for Sports all over the Continent adding that it will also serve as a veritable platform for talents to demonstrate that they can go viral to the level that will make them known Stars”.
Aiyepeku added that the State will make its facilities available with full support anytime there are events that will expose the Athletes to compete with their counterparts favorably.
“It is important that we keep on breeding relationships, having at the back of our minds that Lagos is open for business as well as open for Sports. As you can see things we have been doing over a year since Covid-19 protocols were slightly lifted, to demonstrate that we are ready for Sports and we are ready to host”
Also present at the event were the Director General, Lagos State Sports Commission, Oluwatoyin Gafar and the Vice President, ITTF Africa,Waheed Enitan Oshodi.
