Lagos Sports Summer Camp Phase One kicks off in Badagry

The Badagry Grammar School is agog with the Phase 1, of the Season Two of the Lagos Sports Summer Camp, organized by the Lagos State Sports Commission and powered by the administration of the Sports loving Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The First Phase of the Three Phase, 60 % Sports and 40 % Life Skills commenced on Sunday 15 August and will end on Saturday 21 August with 120 participating Students ranging from ages 9 to 14, from both Public and Private Schools in Lagos State.

 

Participants at the Camp are being exposed to Athletics (Track and Field), Basketball, Chess, Darts, Judo, Karate, Scrabble, Table Tennis and Volleyball.

 

For the Life Skill activities at the Camp, all participants were divided according to their areas of interest such as Artwork, Art and Craft, Tie and Dye, Makeup, Hairdressing, Hat Making as well as how to make a Power Bank and Power Bank Battery.

 

Some of the Participants who spoke about their Second Day experience at the Camp disclosed that they were excited and happy to be at the Lagos Sports Summer Camp.

 

According to a Female participant, Ayomide Akin- Idowu, a 14 Year Old Student of Badagry Senior Grammar School. ” I am happy to be here and my area of interest is to learn the game of Scrabble and as well as to learn Make-Up.

 

” My first two days here now , because we came here on Sunday 15th August and today (Monday), it has been a lot of activities and I am very happy to be part of this experience.

 

” I want to thank the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu for making this happen” . Thank you Sir.

 

To Fawole Adegoke, Male , a 12 Year Old Student of Grimos International College , Alagbado, Lagos State. ” My two days here so far has been a lot of fun, music, good food and conducive environment”.

 

” So far , I am enjoying myself and hoping to go back home by learning new things that can be a life changer to me”.

 

” I am eagerly waiting to learn how to make Power Bank and Power Bank Battery at the end of this Lagos Sports Summer Camp”.

 

” Thanks to Lagos State Government for organizing this at no cost “.

Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC) was created from the defunct Office of Sports in the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Social Development (MYSSD) and Lagos State Sports Council via an Executive Order EO/AA01 dated 17 June 2015 by His Excellency Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, Governor of Lagos State. While the Law to provide for the Commission was signed into law by the Governor on 1st of February 2017.
