In a bid to ensure an effective Workforce, the Lagos State Sports Commission has just concluded a two day in-house Training to develop Capacity of Officers and improve Sports development at the grassroots in the State.

The two day Training was held from Thursday,  19th to Friday,20th December, 2019 at the Media Centre, Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere.

According to the Director General LSSC, Oluwatoyin Gafaar,  the Capacity Development Programme was organised to equip Officers to achieve the goals and mandate of the Lagos State Sports Commission in general, stating further that, the Commission is working towards sustaining a lasting Sports development in Lagos and Nigeria as a whole.

” I will be proud to be associated with a State known for production of Sports men/women than being taken to be amongst Sports administrators of a consuming State. In Lagos, we are more concerned about the discovery and nurturing of identified young talents to stardom while also ensuring the promotion of the Sports + Education policy of the Lagos State Government”.

President, Nigeria School Sports Federation, Bisi Joseph,while addressing the Officers,  stated that  Strategic Management and execution are key aspects  in School Sports.

 Chairman LSSC, Sola Aiyepeku, stated the he believes that, after the two day in-house Training, there will be  measurable results that will be beneficial to the Lagos State Sports Commission.

The Chairman had an Interactive Session on  Sports Tourism in a growing economy stating that Sports contributes greatly to the economy by aiding the growth of Tourism in the State through revenue generated from events.

Other Topics of discourse during the Training were Effective Sports Management and Training; Effective Team Participation and Conflict Management; Effective Communication and Writing Skills and Performance and Goal Setting.
